The name “AlamaYangu”—a Swahili phrase meaning “my legacy”—reflects the organization’s guiding vision and core values. It embodies the transformative impact of our initiatives, designed to empower individuals and inspire sustainable, replicable change for improved well-being across communities.
AITA is powered by a dedicated team of professionals with extensive expertise in key areas such as social work, positive parenting, gender equity, economic strengthening, entrepreneurship, health, grants management, monitoring, evaluation, and learning, as well as youth life skills development and education retention strategies.
- This team is supported by a robust governing board, which brings a wealth of experience in program development and private sector management.
The initiative
Our organization also leverages an extensive network of knowledgeable and skilled volunteers to enhance our impact. At the core of our operations is the strategic use of Social and Behavioral Change Communications (SBCC) to address thematic areas such as health, empowerment, education, and child protection effectively.
- AITA thrives on strategic partnerships with government agencies and like-minded organizations to catalyze the transformation of underserved populations. By equipping individuals with the tools and skills needed to sustain positive change, AlamaYangu Initiative Tanzania builds a brighter and more resilient future for the communities it serves.
